Nucleons (protons and neutrons) are the building blocks of atomic nuclei and are responsible for more than 99% of the visible matter in the universe. Despite decades of efforts in studying the structure of the proton, the proton remains fascinating and even puzzling. Low-energy experiments play an important role in elucidating the structure of the nucleon and advance our understanding of the theory of strong interaction, quantum chromodynamics (QCD) in the non-perturbative region. In this talk I will discuss some recent results from electron scattering and Compton scattering experiments on the proton charge radius and nucleon polarizabilities.
