Tools for Physicists: Slow Control with EPICS

MESA and its experiments will be steered via EPICS. It is a well established, globally used slow control system.

In the first part of this lecture the basic concepts (Channel Access, IOC, Process Variables) will be presented.

In the second part you will be able to control a small detector setup through EPICS, host your own process variables and build a graphic user interface.

Please bring a laptop.
